Admissions

Prospective Families

Thank you for your interest in enrolling your children at The International School of Choueifat – Manama (ISC-Manama). Our school is an excellent choice for parents who are looking to offer their children a top-quality, international education within a vibrant and nurturing environment that encourages children to achieve their full potential and follow their dreams.

At our school, we welcome students who exhibit a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment and who are eager to participate in a global community.  Our curriculum is designed to give students a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, a love of lifelong learning, and the ability to adapt to and lead change, so they graduate with confidence and an edge that allows them to succeed in their future.

If you have not already done so, we strongly recommend that you book an appointment to visit the school, meet with our staff, and see our school in action. This step is an important part of the admission process, which also includes an application and diagnostic test to assess the appropriate grade levels and classes for the applying students.

Should you have questions or require additional information, please contact our admissions office.

Admission Process

  • School Tour

Families are encouraged to visit the school for a tour of the campus and talk with our admission staff. Appointments can be made by contacting the school administration. We also provide virtual tours.

There is no application deadline, but it is recommended that the admission process be initiated early on. Applications are accepted but place offers are granted based on spaces available throughout the school year.

  • Application and Required Documents

Along with the student application form, you will be asked to provide us with documents specified by the school. In the case of applying online, you will see the list while filling in the online Application Form.

Admission Decisions

Admission decisions are made after careful evaluation of the candidates. Results of diagnostic testing and previous school records are considered on a case-by-case basis. Additional criteria for admission include motivation, social and emotional development, willingness to work hard, and the ability of ISC-Manama to accommodate the needs of the candidate.

Please note that, in order to complete the registration, the requested documents should be presented upon initiation of the admission process in support of the application. A final admission decision cannot be made without this information.

Once accepted and the required fees paid, a place for the student is reserved.

Admission Policy

  • Non-Selective Admission Policy

The SABIS® Educational System is highly academically oriented without being highly selective. The criterion for acceptance in a grade level is academic attainment, not age, although age acts as a limiting factor. It is possible to find up to a two-year age range among student in the same class. In general, any student willing to learn is accepted.

  • Placement Overview

There are no academic requirements for acceptance into Levels A, B, and C (three to five and a half years of age). Prospective students at these levels are interviewed; they must be toilet-trained and able to speak and follow simple instructions.

All other prospective students take diagnostic tests in core subjects. These tests help to determine if the student has attained the minimum expected standard for each subject. The school then makes final placement decisions but can resort to the various strategies at its disposal to help bring a student to the required level. For example, there is the option of attending summer school or perhaps extra lessons or intensive classes in a subject. Special academic support is taken very seriously by the school.

Appointments for diagnostic testing can be made by contacting the admissions office through the school phone numbers or E-mail address.
